SASG - Monthly Coffee Mornings

For parents and carers of children / young people on the autism spectrum. Come along for a coffee and a chat with other parents. All welcome, whether you have a child with a diagnosis, are waiting for a diagnosis or just want to learn more about autistic spectrum condition.

Easter Fun

Tobogganing at Folkestone Sports Centre

Come and join us for a fun hour of tobogganing  at  Folkestone Sports Centre, Radnor Park.

As this is free event, you will need to book via our email address contact@shepwayautism.org. We will need full names and ages of those who are attending, plus contact details. Places are limited and we will contact you to confirm if you have secured a place or not. 

Parents/carers remain responsible for their children at all times.

Sheway Autism Support Group AGM

AGM -At Christ Church CEP Academy Folkestone

All subscribers are invited to our AGM on March 7th. We would like as much support as possible for our AGM to discuss the future of our community group. Everyone's opinion matters, so if you have any ideas for future events, how to raise awareness for ASD or fantastic fund raising ideas, please come along. All our welcome!

The AGM will be held in the conference room at Christ Church, please enter via the side gate, where the library is situated in the Community Building.

Friday Friends Club

Come and join our exciting youth club held every Friday at Hythe Bay Youth Centre, Cinque Ports Avenue, Hythe.

This youth club caters especially for secondary school children and teenagers with ASD.

With  funding from Healthwhole(The Health Lottery), our youth club has a qualified youth worker, art worker and an SASG volunteer, (who have all the necessary CRB checks). 

Our aim with the youth club, is to offer our young people a safe place to come on a Friday evening, where they can participate in local events, such as  The Hythe Venetian Fete, they can feel part of their community.  At the same time we encourage independence and confidence, so that they are their families no longer fell isolated. 

Planning art and creative work, supports the young people with communicating,helps them relax and builds pride and a sense of achievement in their work.

New Year Sponsored Walk 2016

SASG Sponsored Walk 2016 Saturday 2nd January 

We will be meeting on the seafront in front of the Imperial Hotel Hythe and we will be walking along the seafront to the Murco Garage.

Please come and join us for this annual fundraising event to earn our community group  much needed funds, so that we can plan events for the next year.

SASG Christmas Party

Come and join us at our ASD friendly annual Christmas Party!

We will be joined by a very special guest Father Christmas for lots of fun and games.

At 11th Shepway Scouts Hall Shepway Close, Folkestone.  This is a family event and parents remain responsible for their children at all times. 

Price £4.00 per child/£8.00 per family

There will be party food at this event. However, if your child has a preferred food or diet, you are most welcome to bring along food that they will enjoy eating.

Parents/Carers: Special request from Father Christmas, as it is his most busiest time of year, he asks that you bring along your own gift for your child, wrapped and clearly labelled.

Romney, Hythe, Dynchurch Railway

Shepway Autism Support Group- Mid Term Break Family Day Trip

Trip on the Light Railway from Hythe to New Romney October 29th at 10:00.

We will be leaving Hythe station at 10:30. Our return trip is at 13:15.

You can take advantage of thecafé at New Romney station or families are also more than welcome to bring a picnic for their day out.

 This FREE information workshop lead by Contact a Family is for parents/carers who have children with a disability and/or additional needs.We will look at understanding sleep issues, tips for parent/carers, approaches to helping you and your child get rest, and sources of help, advice and support.
